Thank you for subscribing to this inaugural issue of LAAUNCH Report, an update on what we've been up to at LAAUNCH to engage and empower Asian Americans to fight racism, increase representation, and elevate our community going forward.

Our first initiative, working with APIAVote.org to get out the vote for the 2020 Presidential Election, we engaged several popular influencers, including Jeremy Lin, Connie Chung, and Hudson Yang who helped turn out a record number of Asian American and Pacific Islander ("AAPI") voters in this historic election. Congratulations to President-elect Joe Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris, who will be the first Asian American, first Black, and first woman Vice President in US history.

In this LAAUNCH Report, please find a summary of our campaign with APIAVote as well as a curated list of some recent articles on Asian American issues.

According to the Chinese proverb, "a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step," and we, at LAAUNCH, look forward to sharing this journey with you. Our Election Impact

Top 5 Asian American News Stories - Nov 2020

Asian Americans are the fastest-growing segment of eligible voters out of the major racial and ethnic groups in the United States. More than 11 million will be able to vote this year, making up nearly 5% of the nation’s eligible voters (for this analysis, US citizens ages 18 and older). They are also the only major racial or ethnic group in which naturalized citizens—rather than the US born—make up a majority of eligible voters, according to a Pew Research Center analysis of Census Bureau data.
